Milwaukee, WI - In loving memory of our dearly departed mother, Marla O.Anderson, a bilingual and higher education advocate, a farm worker, welfare, civil rights and immigrant rights activist. On May 1st, we celebrated the 30th Anniversary of her passing. Her life accomplishment was to educated her children. But racial disparities and circumstances in the State of Wisconsin in the late 1960's made her an instrumental leader among others to break down the walls of discrimination policies that kept Hispanics and low income non-Hispanics from getting a higher education in the University of Wisconsin System, especially at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the late 1960's to early 1970's.
