A federal appeals judge granted an emergency stay to prevent a lower court from implementing an order to stop a John Doe investigation into alleged inappropriate campaign and funding reporting tactics for the Walker Recall election.

Chicago, Illinois - A federal judge for the 7th U.S. District Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago granted an emergency stay to prevent from shutting down an ongoing John Doe investigation looking in alleged inappropriate campaign and fund raising reporting tactics by the re-elect Scott Walker (R) recall election. The special prosecutor in the John Doe investigation, Francis Schmitz, authorities involved and his attorney filed for a stay citing reputable harm would be caused and impede the investigation, if the probe would be stopped.
The probe is investigating possible funding that was raised by the Walker campaign and was not reported.
On Tuesday, U.S. District Rudolph Randa in a 26-page decision ruled that defendents involved in the John Doe investigation into campaign spending and fund raising, including the re-elect Governor Walker campaign staff and volunteers to stop cooperating with authorities. Judge Randa also ordered authorities to stop their five county probe and to return all materials, computers to the defendant's and to destroy all copies related to the case. Randa believed the GOP involved in re-election of Governor Scott Walker was being harassed.
